other people are brilliant

Eunny is brilliant and so inspiring: I ran across her post and pictures of her Endpaper Mitts today and now I have to knit myself a pair (perhaps without the thumb gusset though). I’ve been thinking about knitting myself some fingerless mitts ever since I knit my ex-boyfriend a pair in August, but I wanted something more elaborate than the garter stich set I made for him - enter the Endpaper Mitts stage center. I’ve already purchased the yarn - I went directly to Downtown Yarns after work - and my style is a little more traditional so I’m doing the set in navy and pale grey, but I am SO excited. This will be my first time knitting Koigu and I hope it will live up to all the amazing reviews.

This does, however, break the promise I made to myself that I would not start any new projects until I finished all my old works-in-progress… but does it count if I don’t cast on? I still have to knit my brother’s girlfriend a Christmas stocking and finish my Rowan Classic Julia Sweater before I start these. I’m almost done with the second sleeve of the Julia; it needs some serious blocking before I sew it up.

I have a question about the julia sweater and I can’t find the answer anywhere online. I thought since you are further along than I and a more experienced knitter, you could help me??? I’m working on the back, just finished the 1st set of 12 rows of lace. On the 7th row, it had me k2tog at each end. Then from now on, I’m supposed to decrease at the end of every 6th row x2 and then every 4th row: do I also continue the decrease on row 7, or was that a one-time deal? I don’t know if it’s part of the pattern or just happens in that first time…

    Thank you!!!
